Darlene Ann Clarke
Darlene Clark is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing at the Pennsylvania State University. She is the faculty coordinator of the College of Nursing abroad programs as well as the College of Nursings sustainability initiatives. She has twenty five years of teaching experience in the clinical and the classroom setting at Penn State with a focus on physical assessment, legal, ethical and genetic issues in nursing, gerontology, nursing informatics and the clinical capstone experience for senior nursing students. Her area of scholarship is focused on workforce issues such as safety and the nursing shortage. She has a keen interest in sustainability in the healthcare arena as it relates to climate, chronic disease, water and waste. She received the Janet Williamson Excellence in Teaching Excellence Award for the College of Nursing in 2011 and the Nightingale Nurse Educator of the Year Award for the state of Pennsylvania in 2004.
